Why do animals get deceases?

Hi, I am a new member to this sight. Looks interesting though, I haven't read all the posts yet & I worry about people who try to read mine since I am not the best speller. I type really fast & hate to go back & fix grammar & spelling. So reader beware :)

My husband & two daughters live with me in Woodinville. Yeah, in the country, but not really. As a side note, just after we moved in I was unpacking I got a Fed X delivery & I told him I was sorry about the mess-I had boxes everywhere & he said, "that's ok, your in Woodinville now." I thought, what does that mean?

We have a golden retriever, Rusty. A few years ago we had to put our other golden down. Sammantha was only 1 year when she started having problems. She was small with had a lot of energy! She was hard to train and actually a hyper dog that drove us crazy with her jumping but for the most part, a good little girl. Anyway, one day she stopped eating. Which is very unusual for a golden ret.

I took her into the vet & she would eat & play w/the vet like nothing was wrong. She even wagged her tail happily. After the exam they called me & found out that she had an underdeveloped kidney & didn't think she would last much longer. She came from a breeder w/papers & all the other dogs were fine.

I've always wondered why some dogs get cancer and other deceases. Why are they not born perfect? I don't understand.

Anyway, thought I would open w/my sad story & my wondering mind that doesn't understand why things happen the way they do. I don’t believe in fate. I can understand people being born & getting deceases, but why animals?
